The 2.4-meter-long bronze statue of German colonial officer Curt von François in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, used to be dismantled from its pedestal with the assistance of a crane. Von François, a senior officer in the German colony known as South West Africa between 1889 and 1894 on the African continent, used to be the operation commander within the Hoornkrans massacre, which killed no less than 80 folks, most commonly ladies and kids, within the eighteen nineties to suppress the rebellion of the Namibian folks.
