Resident Derek Tupling told CTV News Toronto on Tuesday: ‘(The waves) had been arising over the holiday wall.

‘So, you’ll just imagine the sheer extent and energy of water coming up over the wall to hit it and then freeze – flash freeze – instantly. It’s absolutely fantastic.’

Tupling stated the ice on the backs of the house is no less than a foot thick, elevating fears of the pooling water that could observe while it thaws.

‘We’ve been here for an extended time and feature by no means noticed weather as dangerous as that over that period of time,’ he added.

‘the damage that’s been caused and the destruction on the backsides of those homes of where we’re now is unbelievable.’
