A FedEx driver has been arrested in reference to the kidnapping and murder of a lacking seven-year-vintage schoolgirl, authorities have showed.

Texan police stated Tanner Lynn Horner, 31, confessed to kidnapping and killing Athena Stroud and told them where to search out her body.

County Sheriff Lane Akin stated a tip-off had led them to Horner, who made a supply to the woman’s home shortly before she disappeared.

She used to be likely kidnapped from her driveway, approximately 2 HUNDRED yards away from the home, at around 6pm on Wednesday.

Horner didn’t recognize the woman’s family, in step with Mr Akin, who declined to discuss a purpose for the crime.

Athena reportedly left house after arguing along with her stepmother, who spent ‘approximately an hour’ looking for her before calling the police.

‘The stepmom went to mend dinner, came again to get Athena, and Athena wasn’t in her room,’ Mr Akin mentioned.

Her body was later found close to town of Boyd, about six miles southeast of Paradise, a small Texan the town of approximately 475 other people, Mr Akin stated.

Detectives believe Athena died within an hour of her kidnap, and labelled her murder a ‘crime of possibility’.

‘We Actually can’t get into the content of the confession, however i will say we’ve a confession,’ the sheriff brought.

FedEx said in an announcement it is operating with regulation enforcement businesses investigating the case.

‘Our feelings are with the circle of relatives of Athena Strand during this so much tough time,’ according to the observation. ‘Words can not describe our shock and sorrow surrounding this tragic adventure.’

The sheriff said Athena’s circle of relatives are ‘devastated’, including: ‘They’re offended on account of what took place. Treasured kid taken from their lives.’
