Ukrainians, who both have younger household combating within the warfare, have fallen in love after meeting at a refuge centre.
Volodymyr, 70, and Olga, 67, have shared their story to mark the year anniversary of the struggle.
They made separate 500-kilometre journeys from their home city of Kharkiv, northern Ukraine, earlier than assembly at Depaul Day Centre in Kyb around ELEVEN months in the past.
Since then, Volodymr and Olga have supported one another throughout the previous 12 months of trauma.
Talking with the PA information agency on the centre, they stated cigarettes, humour, and their companionship has helped them live to tell the tale.
Olga has had to take care of issues approximately her daughter, who is abroad with ‘no make stronger’, and her son-in-legislation, who’s combating on the front line in Bakhmut – as is Volodymyr’s son.
Whilst asked how she copes, Olga said: ‘I’m a big joker’, even as generating a pack of cigarettes, including: ‘I don’t drink alcohol so I just smoke just a little and it is helping me to feel somewhat better.
‘What do we have without humour? Without humour there may be literally not anything left…

‘Sometimes I Am unhappy and i cry when no-one is asking as a result of I’m trying to not display it because your kids are having a look up to you.’
The SIXTY SEVEN-12 months-old joked: ‘I also have Volodymyr who’s taking a look up to me as well, and i don’t need him to assume that I’m a cry-child.’
In The Meantime Volodymyr said he is ‘truly thankful’ for the make stronger given to Ukraine by way of Britain, and that his love for Olga has helped him in the course of the ordeal.
Olga added that the Kyiv refuge centre has given them ‘really good and prime quality’ food programs, and even sourced some glasses for her.
