A rescue crew from Ukraine pulled a survivor from under a fallen building – 204 hours after the earthquakes now confirmed to have killed greater than 41,000 other people in Turkey and Syria.

Gunmen stormed a health center in north Syria in an alleged attempt to kidnap a toddler girl born beneath the rubble of a quake-shattered house.
