A teenage girl has been killed in a shark attack whilst swimming in Western Australia.
The 16-yr-old used to be pulled from the Swan River with critical leg injuries on Saturday.
In Spite Of paramedics speeding to the scene, she couldn’t be saved.
Police Appearing Inspector Paul Robinson mentioned the girl were out with buddies on jet skis.
He went on: ‘there was possibly a pod of dolphins seen nearby and the young feminine jumped within the water to swim local the dolphins.
‘The family weren’t there whilst this took place, alternatively, her pals were and as you’ll imagine this is an especially nerve-racking incident for somebody to witness so obviously we’re offering counselling services and products to any person who did witness it or is suffering from the incident.’

He mentioned The Department of Fisheries had urged him it was odd for a shark to be so far down the river, which flows thru Perth into the Indian Ocean.
‘I’ve spoken to fisheries and water police and sadly we have now no thought what type of shark it’s,’ Robinson mentioned.
it is believed to be the first fatal shark assault within the Swan River considering a 13-yr-old boy was killed more than a century in the past in January 1923.
There tend to be around 20 shark attacks once a year in Australia, such a lot of which take place in WA and New South Wales.
They killed other folks in 2021 and seven in 2020.
