A monument to the Soviet Army in Bulgaria used to be vandalised on the eve of the one-year anniversary of the warfare in Ukraine.
Pictures show the plaque of the memorial with the inscription ‘to the Soviet Military, liberator of the grateful Bulgarian country’ damaged and coated in red paint.
Wreaths of plants can be noticed scattered at the scene in the centre of Sofia, that’s a popular place for protest actions.
Local media suggested police have arrested a 61-year-vintage guy, who’s understood to have broken the plaque with a hammer, and he has on the grounds that been charged.
