Man with explosives arrested outside Swiss parliament

A MAN dressed in a bulletproof vest and a gun holster used to be arrested outside the Swiss Parliament.

Safety officials stopped the 27-yr-old on account of his suspicious behaviour and appearance outside the federal government development in the capital Bern this afternoon.

After searching him close to one among the entrances of the construction, he was found to be bearing explosives.

Police stated ‘federal safety staffers spotted a person on the southern entrance of the Parliament construction whose appearance – he was wearing a bulletproof vest and a weapon holster – and behavior have been suspicious’.

The incident sparked a security alert that shut down a part of Bern for several hours.

A car linked to the person used to be parked at the Bundesplatz, reverse Parliament, and police were known as to the scene.

After being examined by way of a robotic, the car was once found to pose no danger, Bern police said.

The emergency measures have been lifted at round 7pm, about five hours after being called to the scene.

No element on the explosives has yet been shared, along with a potential cause and the id of the man.
