The birth of a Highland cow in Italy has been celebrated in real Scottish style – with a bagpiper and whisky tiramisu.
Other People dressed up in kilts, did some Highland dancing, and even ate Highland cow truffles to welcome Gino the calf at the Orti Generali community garden in Turin.
When it came to deciding his name, locals had to choose from Gino, in honour of Turin-born First Global War hero Gino Lisa, Scottino to rouse Scotland or William after William Wallace.
He was once officially named Gino on the party dubbed ‘A Scottish Welcome’.
Orti Generali purchased Highland cows in September, Tina and Baboo – and now the burgeoning family on the lawn which was once waste land.
