A Minimum Of 40 other people have been killed in a head-on crash among buses in Senegal.

Officials said a public bus was riding throughout the village of Gnivy, within the Kaffrine area, whilst considered one of its tyres blew out at 3.30am on Sunday.

It caused it to veer into the trail of another bus coming the other manner.

Shocking footage display the mangled vehicles through the aspect of the road and the trail of debris.

Dozens had been killed and at least 78 other people had been injured, including a few severely.

Senegal’s president Macky Sall mentioned: ‘I Am deeply saddened via the tragic highway coincidence these days in Gniby causing 40 deaths and plenty of critical injuries.

‘I lengthen my heartfelt condolences to the households of the sufferers and need a rapid restoration to the injured.’

Mr Sall declared 3 days of mourning, starting on Monday, and promised to hold talks on street safety measures.

Crashes occur ceaselessly in the West African nation due to bad roads, unhealthy cars and drivers not following the principles.

In 2017, no less than 25 other people were killed when two buses crashed.

Many have been heading towards the crucial the town of Touba for the annual Muslim pilgrimage.
