Block of flats completely flattened after earthquake causes building to collapse

Photos posted on Twitter shows what appears to be a five-storey block of apartments within the town of Şanlıurfa disintegrate to the ground, also knocking out a software pole.

it is nonetheless unclear if any individual was within the building at the time, but many citizens have already fled their properties in towns across the southeast out of concern of aftershocks.

Other videos on social media also display similar scenes across Diyarbakir, Adana and Gaziantep regions within the country.

Loads of individuals are still believed to be trapped underneath mountains of rubble throughout Turkey.

Rescue employees and citizens in multiple towns are searching for survivors, digging via tangles of metal and large piles of concrete.

Nearly 900 homes have been destroyed in Gaziantep and Kahramanmaras provinces.

vice president Fuat Otkay placed the overall collection of collapsed buildings at 1,718.
